Claudio was born in Argentina and moved to Mexico City during his childhood, where he currently lives and works. He has worked in the film industry for twenty years.
His objective as a Production Designer is to create spaces through light and design that provoke and help in the development of the story and its characters.
His first credit as a Production Designer was in Gerardo Naranjo’s film Drama/Mex selected in the Semaine de la critique in the Cannes Film Festival. Since then, he worked with diverse filmmakers, creating films premiered in festivals such as Cannes, Venezia, Toronto, Rotterdam and Sundance.
On 2019, 2020 and 2021 he was nominated for the Ariel Best Production Design Award, and platino award for his work on the films Las Niñas Bien and Nuevo Orden.
R. Castelli has worked with directors like Michel Franco, Alejandra Márquez, Sebastián Hoffman, Elisa Miller, Gerardo Naranjo, Carlos Bolado and Rubén Imaz.
In advertising, he has worked for Directors like Andreas Nilsson, Aaron Ruell, Rodrigo Saavedra and Cameron Harris, among others, for several brands such as Loreal, Maybelline, Lipton, Duracell, Chevrolet, Ford, Johnnie Walker, Absolut and Gucci.
Claudio is part of the Production Design Collective, a global community dedicated to transmit and share knowledge, techniques and ideas with production designers and art directors across the world.
